Not sure if you all heard about the controversial comments Alicia Keys made in an interview with Blender magazine. If you haven’t yet heard, you have been living under a rock.
To summarize for all you under-rock residers, Alicia was quoted saying that Gangsta rap was â€a ploy to convince black people to kill each other,” and that the mainstream media, the record industry and those in power allowed it to flourish. Alicia has since defended her comments, however, 50 Cent wasn’t hearing ANY OF IT!Â
50 Cent told Rhapsody, “I don’t like Alicia Keys no more.â€Â Bam! You hear that?
And from the sounds of it, he isn’t a fan of Alicia’s music either. “I don’t think that [her] classical s–t is cool. I don’t give a f–k if you can classically play the piano. I haven’t been classically trained, because my upbringing, nobody put me in front of a piano at that time…I could f–king care less about the s–t. So she don’t like the music that embodies the harsh realities because they’re not her realities. She hasn’t been subjected to the same things.”
Wowsers!
I’m thinking there will be no duets or future collabo between 50 and Alicia.
Maybe when pigs fly!
