A big fat congratulations is in order for Alana Stewart. Everyone bow down and recognize! Bitch was just named Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Delivered, which had its world premiere at the 44th Annual WorldFest-Houston Independent International Film Festival in Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 16.
Sure, it’s not a damn Oscar, but it is a pretty freakin’ sweet accolade.
Of the honor, Stewart said, “I am so appreciative of this tremendous honor. To be recognized for my work on a film that was truly a labor of love is very rewarding. The cast and crew were superlative and strove to bring the very best out of each other’s performance. I was inspired to be amongst such a talented ensemble.”
According to a press release, Stewart is brilliant in the role of Marilyn, a widowed mother to a wounded Iraqi war veteran, Shane Green, portrayed by talented actor Michael Madison. When Green returns home from Iraq, he finds his mother (Stewart) working two jobs just to make ends meet and discovers she has just lost her house to foreclosure. In an effort to get his mother’s house back, Green gets caught-up in a real life-or-death crime thriller making for an exciting plot from start to finish. It sounds pretty intense, if you ask me.
And I’m hearing that the on-screen relationship between Madison and Stewart is riveting and drawing early rave reviews from critics. In the spirit of films like Bullitt, Vanishing Point, and True Romance, this film is packed with numerous twists and turns and some truly unforgettable screen performances.
This definitely sounds like a ‘must see’!
Congrats, Alana! Werrrrk it girl!
