Anyone else hear about that incident with Alec Baldwin and American Airlines?
No, I didn’t think so. (I kid, I kid).
Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you have heard of Alec Baldwin getting kicked off American Airlines for playing Words with Friends, a very popular (especially now) cell phone game.
Well, instead of playing nice, Alec Baldwin managed to turn it around and make it into something we all can laugh and enjoy. And somehow, I have a great respect for someone who can turn an apology and a very humliating situation into something that can make people laugh.
Okay, maybe American Airlines isn’t laughing.
I’m laughing. You’re probably laughing.
Definitely American Airlines isn’t laughing.
But, we all know what matters most…
Well, Saturday night, American Airlines’s Captain Steve Rogers apologizes to Alec Baldwin for kicking him off the airplane as played by…Alec Baldwin…on Saturday Night Live.
Hey, I figure, if an apology has to be made, Saturday Night Live is the perfect place to make it, isn’t it? Okay, maybe not for the rest of us on the planet, but, somehow it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to watch Alec Baldwin bite back at a rule that frustrates us all.
Okay, extreme southern accent and sarcasm so apparent you can cut it like a knife (I know, I laughed at that moment about the “no-airline-delay” thing too), and despite that fact that Seth Meyers who hosts “Weekend Update” seemed to literally cringe at the end of the skit, I would say, it was a great moment in cell phone app history.
Now, I have two questions left:
1) How many of you downloaded the app right after hearing about the incident?
and
2) I wonder what Alec Baldwin’s Words with Friends user name is?
