Miley Cyrus Supported Charity “To Write Love on Her Arms” Wins $1 Million Grant

Emmy award-winner, Bob Costas, hosted the first-ever American Giving Awards to celebrate and recognize five charities in our community. The five charities were finalists from an online voting contest by Chase Community Giving. Through their Facebook page and Chase online, customers selected their favorite charity for the chance to share $2 million in Chase grants.

The charity, To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), was the first-ever recipient to receive a grant from Chase in the amount of $1 million. TWLOHA was founded in Melbourne, Florida by Jamie Tworkowski to provide the necessary treatment for individuals struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.

Tworkowski says that “the $1 million grant from Chase instantly changes what the next year will look like for us. It will allow us to be more creative than ever before in bringing our message of hope and help to the world. It also allows us to invest in treatment and recovery more than ever before.”

There were plenty of stars on hand to celebrate and pay tribute like will.i.am, Miley Cyrus, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, 50 Cent, LeAnn Rimes, and many more. The fan favorite from Dancing with the Stars and U.S. Army veteran, J.R. Martinez, gave a moving tribute to American veterans.

What an amazing way to celebrate the good in our country and the work people do to help others! To learn more about the TWLOHA charity visit, www.TWLOHA.com.
