American Idol album Danny Gokey is engaged to Leyicet Peralta! I’m not gonna lie. This news was a tad shocking. The guy lost his wife three years ago (ok, it seems a coon’s age ago) and still seems to be an emotional wreck and now he’s got a new woman who he is going to tie the knot with?
Fine and dandy, but come on people, I’m a pretty good judge of character. This girl looks like she came straight from the Bunny Ranch!
She could have a good heart, which is why I would hope that Gokey would throw a big fat ring at this girl, but to me it seems soon. And because of this quick engagement (didn’t they start dating in June?) and the fact that they plan on marrying later next month, there must be a couple things going on here.
She’s knocked up; They are so damn in love that they just can’t wait; She wants to get him before the prenuptial agreement talk comes up, or, they think the world is ending soon.
Via his official site, Gokey’s peeps announced the news saying, “He is thrilled to have found Leyicet who also shares his passion and desire to help children and families in need. Accordingly, Danny & Leyicet have requested to their wedding guests that all gifts be in the form of a donation to Sophia’s Heart.”
The couple also issued a statement, saying, “We are thankful for so many of the blessings God has given us. It is our desire to see homeless children and families be kept together and lifted back on their feet through the help of Sophia’s Heart. We love and appreciate you all.”
Here’s hoping Gokey is making the right decision and that this girl is more than meets the eye! He deserves much happiness after all he’s been through.
