Zooey Deschanel has filed for divorce from her husband Ben Gibbard. I think I may be the only one who didn’t know that Zooey was married. Did anyone else not know? Ok whatever. Let’s get to the juice.
So what went wrong? Are you ready for this? Irreconcilable differences, of course or so say the divorce papers.
Deschanel and her husband of TWO years, lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service were introduced three years ago by their mutual music manager.
They made the announcement that they split in November and now they are officially getting the big “D”.
I can see what maybe went wrong here. Zooey’s star has grown fast and continues to grow with her new sitcom, her Golden Globe nomination and her music career.
According to TMZ.com (who obtained the divorce papers, of course), Deschanel has $1.5 million in the bank and a further $1.6 million tied up in stocks and bonds.
In other words, she has a decent stash. Here’s hoping that the couple signed a prenup, otherwise Deschanel may be forking over half.
Deschanel is known for her co-starring role in the (500) Days of Summer and most recently her sitcom “New Girl”. She also has a big fan base for her group SHE & Him.
