I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Betty White is one hot geriatric bitch. No one can come close to White’s fabulousness at 80-some years of age. She’s witty, cute, and feisty. And my presumption is that she rocks a pair of Depends with a fierceness that only a geriatric woman could. Seriously. If White was a spokesperson for Depends, I’d buy ‘em. But in more professional news, I am happy to reveal that besides a stint on The Middle and an upcoming SNL performance, Betty White has signed a contract with TV Land to star on the new comedy Hot in Cleveland. That’s hot.

TV Land announced the news officially yesterday. Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, said, “The talented Betty White is the finishing touch to this outstanding sitcom ensemble. Betty’s illustrious career spans more than 60 years and makes her one of Hollywood’s most iconic and sought after actresses in television today. Her lively role as Elka in “Hot in Cleveland” is what viewers love to see from her – an amazing sense of timing and fantastic comedy genius. We are confident audiences will love her in this project, TV Land’s first foray into scripted television.”

Mmmhmm. How can this show NOT be a success with the fabulousness of Betty White?

About Hot in Cleveland:
“Hot in Cleveland” revolves around three fabulous, LA women of a certain age and best friends (Bertinelli, Leeves and Malick). Their lives are changed forever when their plane – headed for Paris – unexpectedly lands in Cleveland and they soon rediscover themselves in this new “promised land.” Loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker of the property they have rented, played by Betty White.
