Let’s face it. There are some celebrities that just shouldn’t be on a social networking site like Twitter. It’s all about tact and reputation, right? And apparently Blake Shelton’s people have been keeping a watchful eye on their country bumpkin star and according to Shelton, his record label bosses threatened to shut down HIS Twitter account because of some of his comments and Twitter behavior! Oh, oh.
It was back in May that Shelton got himself into a little bit of trouble with a few insensitive anti-gay remarks that sent followers and the media in a got damn tizzy. And since that episode, his peeps have been watching him.
Shelton told The New York Times that “There was a point where Warner Bros. was (sic), like, ‘We’ve got to get Blake off Twitter, ’cause he can’t say these type of things.’”
He adds, “I hope that people learn from me, it’s OK to be yourself. It’s OK to offend somebody, and, as a matter of fact, please be polarizing. If you’re not polarizing, you failed in my opinion. If you don’t stand for something, how can anyone respect what you do?”
True that, brother!
