David Blaine Gets Booed.
Last night, we witnessed the death-defying David Blaine in a TWO-hour feature and his Dive of Death. Sad to say, but the poor man got booed. What a stab in the heart! To be hanging like a bat for 60 hours and the man gets NO respect. How humiliating!
I admit this stunt was kind of random, considering WE’VE all done this stunt before…in the womb as infants. (Six weeks before delivery we drop and prepare for escaping our mother’s wombs.) So, technically it is a stunt we’ve ALL succeeded in accomplishing. But many of his tricks and stunts ARE interesting and are things other people can’t do.
So why all the negativity surrounding Blaine’s stunts? Why does he risk his life? Why does he spend his time training for stunts to be televised nationally? Well, that is simple. It’s called ENTERTAINMENT. No, he’s not changing the world or making a difference in somebody’s life, but let’s get real here…he is in the entertainment business. He is performing stunts or tricks that most people can’t do. If you’re NOT interested in seeing something unique like Blaine’s stunts, don’t bother going to a concert or a football match either. Those are events of pure entertainment as well.
I am one of the few bloggers who WILL defend Blaine. There is no way you will see me performing any of the stunts he has performed. Hell to the no. I’d rather eat a worm on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich than do some of the things David has done…ok, maybe I wouldn’t go that far…but, you get the point. David Blaine ROCKS!
