R and B singer Isaac Hayes has died at the age of 65.

According to a source, Steve Shular, a spokesman for the police, said authorities received a 911 call after Hayes’ wife and young son and his wife’s cousin returned home from a shopping trip and found him collapsed in a downstairs bedroom.

“The treadmill was running but he was unresponsive lying on the floor,” Mr. Shular said.

Isaac Hayes was best known for his work on the 1971 “Shaft” sound track and his role as “Chef” on “South Park”.

First Bernie Mac…now Isaac Hayes. Such a sad, sad weekend this has been.
