Bryce Dallas Howard says her dad Ron is a ‘good teacher’.

Bryce Dallas Howard is achieving one of her lifetime goals, having her dad Ron Howard direct her. In a recent interview with Parade.com, Howard dishes on her upcoming project with her dad, what her famous dad is like as a grandpa, pregnancy and Twilight. Highlights below!

ON PREGNANCY THE SECOND TIME AROUND:

“Everyone has told me that it’s easier, but to be honest, the morning sickness has been so intense. It was the first time as well, but this is sort of a whole ‘nother level. I just keep saying in my head that it means that the baby is really present and healthy. But I would choose this a million times over. I feel so fortunate to be able to have another child.”

ON WORKING WITH HER FAMOUS DAD:

“My relationship with him is not just as father and daughter. I really value his mentorship. He always said that if he weren’t a director that he would be a teacher, like a high school teacher and a basketball coach. He has that natural aptitude for teaching and mentoring, so to have the opportunity to be the recipient of that is something that I don’t take for granted.”

ON RON HOWARD AS A GRANDFATHER:

“He’s an amazing grandfather! He’s really involved. When I was growing up, people would assume that my dad wasn’t able to be involved because he has such a full career, but we felt like he was always around. Maybe that’s because our poor mother constantly uprooted us so that we could travel with him. She was behind the scenes just working her butt off to make this all possible.”

ON REUNITED WITH HER TWILIGHT CO-STARS AT THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS:

“One of the things that I was most excited about going to the MTV Movie Awards for was getting to see the Breaking Dawn trailer, which I’ve subsequently seen many five or six times online! I’m just really excited to see the last films. I’m so glad they broke it up into two parts because I think it would be really sad for me knowing that there’s only one more left. I think the end of it will be really sad. It’s the end of an era a little bit — same thing with Harry Potter. In movies, it’s so rare that you get the experience that you do on television of having serial storytelling and having it really work. So it will be really sad when these franchises end.”
