With her quickie divorce finalized and $50 million headed her way, Camille Grammer could easily retire from the limelight and disappear with her next Sugar Daddy (or plaything, if she wanted to switch it up). The former Playboy “lingerie” model is forgetting about her ex-husband heading down the aisle, and headed to the self-styled worldwide leader in news.
She has been hired by CNN to cover the Oscars on February 27th. She’ll be an on-location co-host and fashion and celebrity commentator for their special, “Showbiz Tonight: Road to Gold,” which airs at 7 pm on CNN and 11 pm on Headline News.
Grammer’s season of ‘Housewives’ ended in drama in January, and just last week, she popped up in a guest role on William Shatner‘s CBS sitcom ‘$#*! My Dad Says.’ Still, she denies that she’s pursuing any full-time acting work.
At the Oscars next weekend, Grammer will reportedly man a microphone alongside regular ‘Showbiz Tonight’ hosts AJ Hammer and Brooke Anderson, as they candidly discuss the pre-ceremony parade of fashions gracing the Kodak Theater entrance. The trio will also receive input from actress Sheryl Lee Ralph and radio personality Carlos Diaz, according to CNN.
Of course, a “new and improved” theme seems to be permeating the 83rd Annual Oscars this year. The entire evening will introduce fresh takes on old traditions — most notably, the debut of young co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Either the Academy will succeed in bringing in a younger audience or fall flat on its face and recruit Billy Crystal or Alec Baldwin to tell more geriatric jokes in 2012.
