You won’t have to wait until next year to get any news from the upcoming remake Carrie. There are now recently released photos that show Chloë Grace Moretz in the role that made Sissy Spacek a movie star (and Oscar nominee). Also starring in the update is Julianne Moore as the mother of Carrie.
The classic horror movie also starred John Travolta for those that remember and a slew of other teen stars from the era. It was directed by Brian De Palma and nominated for several Oscars in its heyday, is currently filming and is being made by Boys Don’t Cry director Kimberly Peirce. Her vision brings the Stephen King novel into the modern era, as it focuses much more on the characters as the novel did. Expectations are high regarding this new horror flick and I am one of those people that will see Julianne Moore in anything. Chloë Grace Moretz is fast joining that list and this movie may make her a household name as well. After stealing the show in Kick-Ass and proving her acting chops in Let Me In, it is only a matter of time before her star rises even further. Carrie hits theaters on March 13, 2003.
