Channing Tatum is certainly on a high with his career! He’s got Magic Mike coming out this Friday, two other films in production, and possibly a new role coming up as Superman in a new flick!
But before you get all excited about seeing him fly in tight spandex, the film is animation. Sorry ladies! According to Variety, Warner Bros. Studios want Channing to voice Superman for their upcoming movie Lego: The Piece of Resistance, which combines live-action and Lego-based animation.
Channing’s participation is up in the air right now. He’s definitely pretty busy with working on Bennett Miller‘s Foxcatcher, as well as the 21 Jump Street sequel. However, Will Arnett and Chris Pratt are both signed on to the film, with Pratt voicing the lead character Emmet and Arnett taking on the role of Lego Batman.
The Phil Lord and Christopher Miller-directed movie has been in development since 2008 and is slated for a February 2014 release date.
Channing might be able to work on this movie as well, but it seems his plate is a little full right now. He definitely doesn’t want to take on too much. But then again, it would be cool to see him doing some voice-over work. To my knowledge, I don’t think he’s ever done animation before, so it would be something new! Meanwhile, I’m going to be front row center at a movie theater this weekend to see him and the rest of the cast of Magic Mike shed some clothes and drop it like it’s hot!
