Charice Pempengco’s father Ricky Pempengco was killed in the Philippines by some whacked out drunk with an ice pick. Ugh. Sad. Sad. Sad.
The singer pulled out of a concert in Singapore on Tuesday so that she could travel to Philippines to be with her family.

Police chief Gilbert Cruz confirmed the death saying that, “Ricky Pempengco was at a small grocery store south of Manila when a drunk man got mad and stabbed him with an ice pick in the chest and back.”
The guy who killed Pempengco is said to be still on the loose and a reward of $470 has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
Via Twitter Charice posted, “I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert. I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family.” Even though Charice was not close to her father, she is showing her support by traveling back to her native Philippines to be with her loved ones. She added on Twitter, “I loved him and I will still love him. He’s still my Dad after all.”
