Ashton Kutcher has been confirmed to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and A Half Men. Not his ‘Charlie’ character but just filling the void that is left and bringing 300 people back from unemployment. The show will have Kutcher live at the beach house as an entirely different character (no word on how they are tying his character in to the show).
Kutcher and Chuck Lorre (writer, executive producer and the man Charlie Sheen hates most in the world) met, hit it off and a new bromance has blossomed.
Of course Masheen responded, and of course the claws came out for Lorre:
“Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!” “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB.” Charlie adds, “Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”
Of course Sheen is going to make it about himself. Kutcher wouldn’t have had the opportunity if Sheen and Lorre’ professional and personal relationship didn’t implode. Will the show be as good a hit as when Sheen was on it? That remains to be seen, but you can bet people will be tuning in to see it.
It will be very interesting to see how they weave Kutcher’s character into the show. It could be a major success. Or not.
