It’s hard to believe, but Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen haven’t cornered the market on DUI run ins. Nope. Chris Klein is another celeb that had a recent run in with the law after being caught driving on LA freeway driving with a .24 blood alcohol level. In case you’re wondering- that’s about three times over the legal limit.
Today was Chris’s day in court to face the charges- so what happened?
This wasn’t Katie Holme’s one time fiancé’s first DUI offense, and according to TMZ the actor was sentenced to 96 hours in jail- the minimum sentence for a second DUI offender. But you won’t be seeing Chris in an orange jumpsuit anytime soon, because the 96 hours have been marked time served.
Klein plead no contest to the charges- which could’ve landed him up to a year in jail, but the judge recognized he had taken steps to get better by checking into rehab and staying there for a few months.
The judge, Blair Berk, also put Chris on 4 years probation, required Klein’s car to be equipped with an alcohol interlock device, and said Klein must attend an alcohol ed program.
Chris told the judge during the proceedings, “I apologize for my wrongdoing and I really appreciate the court giving me the opportunity to prove how seriously I took all of this.”
Wonder if we will be seeing photos of obscenities painted on his nails? Something tells me that’s a negative.
