Christina Aguilera National Anthem, Superbowl
It was supposed to be amazing and it would have been if Christina Aguilera would have remembered the lyrics to the damn song. Yeah, she botched our country’s National Anthem. While she has previously rocked the Anthem like nobody’s business, for some reason the pint-sized diva just couldn’t pull off a flawless performance this time around at the 2011 Superbowl.
The big fat problem? Remembering the lyrics to a song she’s sung many times before.
Instead of singing the lyrics, “‘O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming” she instead sand “what so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last (not so sure what she sang here because she knew she effed it up).”
And while from our end it seemed as if the crowd didn’t seem to mind (there were no obvious ‘boos’), apparently there were peeps up in Dallas who witnessed the botched song and claim that This was the biggest performance of her career and she blew it. To mess up the lyrics was a disaster.”
Remember when Roseanne Barr sang the National Anthem? Well, Barr may have been off key (ok, my ears stung after hearing her sing) but at least she remembered the words!
