Larry King telethon, Gulf of Mexico oil spill

When crisis comes about, it’s always fabulous to see celebrities step up. As we’ve been hearing the stupid nonsense going on between BP and the government big wigs, actions are what speak louder than words.

In a telethon set to take place today, CNN and Larry King are hosting what they hope will generate some ching to benefit those affected by the oil spill.

Check out a special two-hour edition of Larry King Live that will serve as a platform for various celebrities to visit with the old man about the BP disaster that has put many out of jobs and struggling to put the pieces of their life back to normal.

So just who will be showing their faces and lending their time? Justin Bieber, Ted Danson, Cameron Diaz, Randy Jackson and Robert Redford and Sting will be among the celebs helping out on set, satellite and by taking calls.

Funds will be raised for the United Way, National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy and will air 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern.

Yay Larry King! This good he’s doing will really make us forget about his disastrous marriage and possible affair!
