Lost a little in the all that “overblown” news of Charlie Sheen’s latest incident, actress Daryl Hannah recently took to video, speaking out about her troubled childhood. A very personal confession by the actress, who turns 50 in December, talks about her parent’s divorce and how it affected her. She even admits that at one point, her childhood doctors wanted her institutionalized.

In the video, exclusively obtained by RadarOnline, Hannah says she experienced a “disconnected sense of reality” while growing up in Chicago. At the age of 7, Hannah says her parents became so concerned that they took her out of school and made her see a doctor who gave her a series of tests.
She adds, “My parents went through a divorce which caused me to be a little bit more withdrawn. I wasn’t communicative and wasn’t behaving like the rest of the kids. And they thought I needed to be on some kind of serious treatment plan and I should probably be institutionalized.”
The video is footage from her upcoming segment on the Bio Channel show Celebrity Ghost Stories, airing October 30th (this Saturday) at 9:00 PM.
