Debbie Gibson, Tiffany Syfy Movie Stars: Mega Python and Gataroid

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one time pop princesses Debbie Gibson and Tiffany will star in a new Syfy Saturday night movie, Mega Python and Gataroid.

No, you didn’t just Quantum Leap back to the 80′s.

I have no idea what Mega Python and Gataroid is about, but apparently Gibson will play a fanatical animal rights activist while Tiffany will be an overzealous park ranger that spends her time freeing exotic snakes from pet stores. At some point there will be a brawl in the swamp in which the two will fight. Wait, what?

It seems Gibson and Tiffany have both been cast in Syfy movies in the past, but this is the first time they’ll be working together. The movie begins filming this month for a 2011 release.

“I know that pop culture fanatics have been dying for Tiffany and me to collaborate for the past 24 years,” Gibson said in a statement. Hmm, somehow I’m not quite sure this is what “pop culture fanatics” had in mind.

Tiffany, on the other hand, commented, “Only in my dreams have I been able to have a catfight with Debbie Gibson… until now! This is so MEGA cool.”

I wonder if Tiffany intended the pun? Either way, thanks Tiffany, I am now singing “Only in my Dreams.” Nice.
