Desperate Housewives has lost one of its wives over the weekend. Kathryn Joosten, who played that neighbor that could eye-roll and cough you into shame like no other, died on Friday from lung cancer at 72.
Cancer sucks ass and I am sure you are just like me when I say…F*ck you, cancer!
I must admit I never really watched this show (that is, until Vanessa Williams joined the cast), but after doing some research on the actress I must say I am quite impressed with her road to acclaim.
Joosten decided to become an actress late in life. When she decided to follow her dream, her marriage ended but she kept on and now she leaves behind a slew of credits over the course of thirty years: Family Matters, Roseanne and NYPD Blue. She was also a cast member on The West Wing.
Joosten received not only one, but two Emmy awards for her role on Desperate Housewives and is proof positive that it is never too late to follow your dreams.
