Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen DeGeneres Show
Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon“, stops by The Ellen DeGeneres Show next Monday (March 21) to chat about his current job and what the future may hold for him. After all, it is pretty much an understood that the host of ‘Late Night’ usually goes on to ‘Tonight Show‘ hosting duties after its own host’s departure (Conan and Letterman excepted, of course.) So just what does Fallon say of his possible fate?
ELLEN: With everything that went on with Jay and with Conan, do you think about that, if that ever got offered to you? To me, that’s a scary situation after what happened with Jay and Conan but if they offered that to you, would you go into that time slot?
JIMMY: I’m the third person because Letterman did this time slot and then he went to CBS. Then Conan did this time slot and he’s at TBS. So I think if there’s a lesson to be learned, if you do this, you’re guaranteed not to hose the Tonight Show. Of course, I’d love to do it whenever Jay’s ready, if Jay wants to retire. I love being at 12:30. It’s a comforting time slot because it’s so late t night. i think I’m on at like 12:37 at night which [targets] college kids and convicts. And my parents. They’re the only people watching so I’m ver comfortable with it. I’m just really having fund and I’m learning what I’m doing.
ELLEN: Well, you just get better and better. I’ve always adored you from Saturday Night Live. I think you’re hilarious.
Be sure to tune in Monday, March 21st to Ellen to see the full interview in all its hilarity!
