Emily Blunt hates air-brushing

Emily Blunt Elle UK September 2010 Cover and Interview

Emily is Blunt. In the September 2010 issue of Elle UK, the actress speaks out on fashion and what she thinks of the fashion police. We’ve got some highlights from the interview after the jump.

About her fashion sense, Emily doesn’t think she’s that much of a fashionista. She says, “I think I tend to dress quite hard. I’m definitely not a frilly girl and I don’t wear dresses that much.”

About her style evolution over the years, Blunt says, “My style has changed, I hope dramatically. Because it started off kind of worrying and questionable. I now own what I wear, and I guess I dress a bit stronger now, a bit tougher than I used to. When I was a kid I used to like wearing men’s colorful vests with white jeans. So, hopefully it’s changed a bit.”

And if you think she gives a rat’s ass what you think of her on the red carpet, think again. She explains, “When it’s a red-carpet thing, I think it’s good to just go for it. Who cares if someone hates it? If I love something — if I think it’s edgy and cool — I don’t care what anyone else thinks.”

Blunt isn’t a fan of airbrushing either. She quips, “I don’t like it when they stretch you out and make you all long and skinny. It makes you look like a Barbie. Who the hell looks like that?”

Exactly.
