It’s like they couldn’t escape the music industry if they tried.
The Clark Brothers Experience, composed of six brothers from Virginia, paved the way for the 3 of the six brothers who went on to reincarnate into simply the Clark Brothers, who won the title as The Next Great American Band on the short-lived 2007 FOX reality show. It was shortly after that win that Adam, Austin and Ashley Clark began writing music for their debut album. Throughout that process the guys realized that their music was taking a different route from what they initially set out to create. With that change of their a little bit country, a little bit rock-n-roll mantra, a new name for the evolving band was necessary.
As the Sons of Sylvia, the guys would experience some of the things musicians only dream of. Not only did they have a devoted fan base after their reality show win, they snagged up more than a few fans (whose interest were peaked after their electrifying stage presence and talent) after their American Idol performance in April of 2010. Following the show the promotion of their debut album became a tad easier as a tour gig alongside American Idol winner Carrie Underwood came to fruition.
Even though they have had numerous obstacles and challenges thrown in the path of their musical journey, the Sons of Sylvia know that music is in their blood and as long as they are able to share their talent with the world, they are going to make the most of it!
I had the chance to speak with Ashley Clark about working with Carrie Underwood, his cousin OneRepublic front man Ryan Tedder and he even answered a couple fan questions. Check out the interview videos below!
