George Michael arrested
As proof that Lindsay Lohan isn’t the only celebrity with legal problems, BBC News is reporting that British pop star George Michael was arrested after he crashed his car into a building early Sunday.
The charge? That the 47 year old singer may have been “unfit to drive” at the time of the crash. The pop star was taken to a north London police station at the time of his arrest and has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
According to FOX news, Michael was on his way back from a gay pride march in central London when his Range Rover went crash boom bang into a storefront. Police were called to the scene around 3:35 a.m. on Sunday where officers arrested him on the scene.
Similar charges were filed in June 2007, when Michael pled guilty to driving under the influence of drugs after a hit and run in which he ran into three parked cars and left the scene. He was then banned from driving for 2 years. A ban that has been lifted for only a little over a year.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the accident, though the store’s manager, Jun Mustafa, says his store will be in need of a new shop front. Michael may not be driving any time soon, but given his recent brushes with the law, that doesn’t sound like a bad thing.
