Gwyneth Paltrow has landed a spot on the New York Times Best Sellers List with her new cookbook, My Father’s Daughter, performed with Cee-Lo when he dressed as a peacock and become everyone’s favorite substitute teacher on Glee…and that’s just in the last year! Now Goopy is reminding the world that she’s still a style icon and becoming the face of one of the industry’s most recognizable brands.
Coach celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, and the company tapped Gwyneth Paltrow to front its fall and spring international campaign. The ads are in the can, having just been shot by Peter Lindbergh on a Manhattan rooftop. We won’t see them here in the US, though; they’ll be used in certain markets in Asia and Europe. Expect to see the first ads drop stateside in September.
“I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand,” Paltrow said. “I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag.”
Reed Krakoff told WWD that Gwynnie was a “natural choice…She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand.” And Gwyneth evinced some hometown pride saying, “Coach (is the) quintessential New York brand.” Gwyneth has modeled for Dior and Tod’s in the past, so we’re sure she had no problem bringing Coach that cool, thoroughbred aura that always surrounds her.
What do you think about Goopy’s new job with Coach? Is she a good fit?
