It’s official. Rumors have been swirling for quite some time now, however it is now official. Howard Stern is taking his sassy pants to the America’s Got Talent judge panel. It was just announced today that Stern will serve as a judge moving in on Piers Morgan’s open slot.
Yes Stern will provide his feedback on the hopeful future stars who are auditioning for the upcoming seventh season. And yes, the production of the LIVE shows will be moving to New York to accommodate Stern and his SiriusXM radio program.
Damn! AGT and NBC must have been struggling to find a replacement for Morgan or REALLY, REALLY wanted Stern.
President of Alternative and Late Night Programming at NBC Paul Telegdy said of snagging up Stern, “Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to ‘America’s Got Talent’ starting this summer. He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.”
Sure Stern has transformed American radio and put satellite radio on the map, but will his outspoken and headline-grabbing nature be too much for the “family” friendly talent competition?
Time will tell. Here’s hoping Stern can keep his jock on lock while sitting his butt on the panel otherwise I am sure Sharon Osbourne will give him a piece of her mind. Stern’s addition could make for an interesting dynamic.
