And here I thought he fell off the planet or something. Ja Rule, born Jeffrey Atkins, is turning himself in today to start a two year prison sentence for some gun trouble he got into four years ago.

Ja Rule is set to hang out in a New York jail to serve his time. So what is he going to do with his time behind bars? The AP is reporting that the once popular rapper is going to complete his GED, write a book and learn guitar.
Of his jail stint, Ja told Good Day New York, “Laws are laws. There’s nothing I could really do but own up to the situation. You know, I try not to regret anything I do in life, because you go through life and you do things, and you man up to them. You own them.”
Welp, while two years doesn’t seem like a long time to hang out in jail, rumor has it he may get another 3 years added on to his sentence. Ja is another celebrity who has ignored Uncle Sam and could possibly have additional time for tax evasion on $3 million of his income. Yeah at one point he DID make that much ching.
Ja Rule’s lawyers are hoping that instead of dealing with this crap when he gets out of jail that Ja will be able to serve a continuous sentence.
And there is always good behavior, peeps. If Ja behaves himself, he could get six months knocked off his time.
