January Jones Does GQ Cover and Interview, Slams Ex Ashton Kutcher (Photos)

January Jones will not be told what she can and or cannot do. This beotch is fierce AND fabulous. In a recent interview with GQ magazine, the Mad Men actress reveals that if it wasn’t for her ~~douchebag~~ ex-boyfriend Ashton Kutcher she probably wouldn’t have been an actress because he pretty much told her she sucked. And she didn’t believe him! Read some of the highlights from the GQ interview after the jump.

So what’s all this with Ashton Kutcher saying that she couldn’t make it as an actress? January tells GQ, “[He] was not supportive of my acting. He was like, ‘I don’t think you’re going to be good at this.’ So—f–k you! He only has nice things to say now—if anything, I should thank him. Because the minute you tell me I can’t do something, that’s when I’m most motivated.”

So that is when she quit her job as a model to begin a career in acting.

About her start in modeling, January admits, “I felt like, God, I’m miserable. I hate modeling. When I moved back to New York, the agency said I owed them $20,000. So I left the agency and then – very quickly – decided to go to L.A. and try acting. Without any training.”

Even though she may seem a bit sassy now, she was born and raised with good ole’ fashioned Midwestern values (Jones grew up in South Dakota) and continued to learn the ways of the entertainment world.

About her mentor Laura Steinberg, Jones says, “Laura taught me how to hold my knife and fork and to be a lady. To keep my forearms on the table–never my elbows–and place my napkin on my lap. She got me out of the models’ apartment, and my Fargo accent was really strong then, so she taught me how to speak.”
