So we don’t know who will be replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol but I can tell you that I do know who will be replacing Ellen DeGeneres.
Ok hold up…back up your booty. Yep, my friends, we’ve got a lot of catching up to do. Ellen has thrown in the towel on judging. She’s done! And while Simon’s position still remains open, Ellen’s hot spot has supposedly been snatched up by J.Lo and her ass!
About leaving the show Ellen released an official statement via her website saying, “A couple months ago, I let FOX and the AMERICAN IDOL producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on IDOL and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”
Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company, said, “It was a joy to work with Ellen. She brought an incredible spirit to IDOL and was a great new addition to the team. While we’re saddened by her decision, we are very appreciative that she gave us ample notice so that we could work through it together.”
When Nigel Lythgoe decided to sign on for Idol this season, rumors were swirling that the entire American Idol judge panel could be replaced. It appears now that a shake up is officially taking place.
First of all we are aware that Simon is leaving and everyone from Bret Michaels to Elton John to Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber’s mop top and Kim Kardashian’s badonkadonk is in the running to become an idol judge. Heck, my grandmother who sings soprano in the church choir wants to be a judge on American Idol and she sure as heck has more musical background than Ellen DeGeneres. But why J.Lo?
Everyone knows that landing a spot on this American Idol judge panel will be a boost to any career. J-Lo knows that her ass isn’t the most famous one in the industry anymore and since she got ousted from her record label, home girl has some bills to pay!
