It’s official. Jennifer Lopez is leaving American Idol too! First Steven Tyler, rumors that Randy Jackson is saying “peace out”s and now J.Lo is saying bub-bye to her judging chair on the slowly plummeting reality show. We’ve mentioned the thought before but now it is CONFIRMED!
Jennifer chatted it up with Ryan Seacrest about her decision to bail after rumors that she was asking for a two million dollar raise. After just two years, the singer slash kind of actress is throwing in the towel. She told Seacrest, “The time has come. I really have been torn. When I signed on to ‘Idol,’ I signed on to do one year. I ended up doing two years … It was just such a lovely surprise in my life to do it. It gets more complicated as the kids get a little bigger. It started feeling like it was a lot. Something had to give … that’s where I am right now.”
When asked by Ryan as to whether they are still “co-workers or not?”, Jen replied, “I honestly feel like the time has come that I get back to doing the other things that I do. We had an amazing run.”
In other words, peace out peeps!
As for whether negotiations played a part in whether she would return or not, J.Lo denies that was the case. (But, like she is going to admit that. Eye roll.) “It wasn’t any of that. It was being smart about making a business decision. I had to really be responsible in that moment,” she said.
Riiight.
