Jessica Simpson is expanding her billion-dollar empire and starting a tween clothing line with her sister Ashlee. This will form part of the Jessica Simpson Collection and will be geared: to the fashion-forward tween and will feature sportswear, denim and activewear styled after Simpson’s “girly, playful attitude.”
It will be a tween’s dream come true with hoodies, draw string pants, footwear, outerwear, knit tops etc.
Jessica and Ashlee will be co-creators so if you think it’s just a way to support her sister’s non-existent career, you would be wrong: ”Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand,” Jessica tells WWD. “I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”
Yes she does, if you want to call it that. Ashlee, who is forever grateful for the job: “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”
No word on when the clothing line will be released or the pricing. It will be interesting to see what these clothes look like. Any guesses?
Good, bad, indifferent?
