It’s been just a few days since 16-year-old Jett Travolta’s untimely death and now for the first time since the announcement, John Travolta and Kelly Preston are speaking out.
On John’s official website, the family issued the following statement:
“We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has sent their love and condolences. Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time that we had with him for the rest of our lives. We have received so many messages of condolence from around the world and we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. It has meant so much to us. It is a beautiful reminder of the inherent goodness in the human spirit that gives us hope for a brighter future.
With love, John, Kelly and Ella”

While Travolta and his family are now making funeral arrangements, the actor’s corporate and commercial attorney Michael McDermott revealed that the actor did all he could to revive his son.
“John did everything he could to keep Jett alive. There was a slight pulse so they did all they could. John tried the kiss of life for about 20 minutes. He wouldn’t give up. The paramedics took over for John when they arrived, and they continued. Jeff (nanny Jeff Kathrein) gave Jett CPR while John tried to resuscitate him.”
Now, despite my lack of love and annoyance (as many of you already know) for John Travolta, my heart still goes out to him and his family. Under no circumstance should ANY parent have to bury their child. What a heartbreaking thing to have to do!
