She has been hanging out in the music industry background for a hot minute and Joss Stone has decided she wants to stay there…for now. Girlfriend was offered a gig on the UK version of The Voice as one of the mentors, but she declined. So was it the money or lack thereof? Was it the possible exposure that she could get for promotional purposes?
Apparently, Joss wants to strictly focus on her music and not get wrapped up in reality shows.
She tells Britain’s Daily Express, “I was approached for The Voice in Britain but I don’t think so. The thing is I love music and I love singing with other people and I don’t see it as a competition at all. I feel that those things are really good to get exposure but they kind of make it into a competition and that is just sad. Other than that it is great because they get to be heard by millions and they never would have been before.”
So far The Voice has signed on Jessie J, Tom Jones, will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue.
