Talk show host Bethenny Frankel welcomes pop superstar JUSTIN BIEBER on Thursday, June 28th. Bethenny and Justin chat about their mentors, Usher and Ellen. Bethenny finds out if Justin has ever had a broken heart and Justin opens up about why he wrote the song “Maria” from his new CD “Believe.” Plus, some lucky fans get meet Justin and find out how many tattoos he has. And, don’t miss Justin serenading Bethenny and her daughter Bryn.
ON THEIR MENTORS USHER AND ELLEN:
Bethenny: Usher basically stamped you. I don’t know if you know this but what Usher did for you is what Ellen did for me. Basically said, I believe in you and you go be you…If you need me we can talk about it. She basically said, here’s your show. It’s kind of the same thing. So how has the relationship been? What has Usher said to you? What kind of advice did he give you?
Justin: He’s always just told me to have fun. Because people can tear at you and bring you down and at the end of the day you’re working long days and you can get tired and start resenting it unless you have fun. He said just to make sure with everything keep a smile on your face and have fun.
Bethenny: Do you feel like you’re able to have fun and be in the moment even though you have so many responsibilities and people pulling you in so many different directions?
Justin: Of course, if you look at the NBC Special. I mean that’s our life….We have fun that’s what we do.
ON WHETHER JUSTIN HAS EVER HAD A BROKEN HEART:
Bethenny: Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you ever had that feeling that you would die of a broken heart?
Justin: I think to a small degree. Not really, I think that I’m still young. You know, I’m growing you know there is only time. Time can tell.
Bethenny: I’m hoping you don’t ever feel like you can die from a broken heart….
Justin: I don’t die from a broken heart?
Bethenny: No but people feel like that….
Justin: Feel like that of course, like you can’t eat….
ON WHY HE WROTE “MARIA”:
Bethenny: It’s interesting that you wrote a song on your CD, a song called “Maria.”
Justin: Of course.
Bethenny: Which is about a difficult time in your past. Many people would have just walked away. So what was the reason you felt that you wanted to write that song?
Justin: I wanted to do something that was like…a little shocking. It was something that I’d been feeling and wanted to tell people. Because at the end of the day, you know things happen and I don’t get to really talk about it . People twist my words. So it’s like when they want to talk about it, I’m like ah, we can’t really talk about it in the interview. You know what I mean?
Bethenny: Yes.
Justin: I don’t know what people are going to ask me…
Bethenny: Because they have an angle.
Justin: Yea, so then for this (his album) I’m really able to explain my side of the story, whatever and put on a song….
