After being nominated five times for an Oscar and no cigar, Kate Winslet finally took home a much deserved Oscar for her performance in The Reader.
In an emotional and fabulously happy acceptance speech Kate thanked her husband Sam Mendes, her kiddies, her papa and reminisced of her shampoo bottle dreams. “I’d be lying if I haven’t made a version of this speech before,” she said. “I think I was probably 8 years old and staring into the bathroom mirror and this (Oscar) would be a shampoo bottle. But it’s not a shampoo bottle now.”
