While I always pictured Lady Antebullum’s Hillary Scott pining over her fellow group member Charles Kelley, apparently he’s taken and now she is and my dreams of those two together will probably never come true. I know, I’m twisted.
At any rate, I’m not quite sure how that works, but apparently despite their emotional ballads and heartfelt lyrics, all members of Lady Antebellum found love outside the group.
Lead singer Hillary Scott had a freakin’ fabulous 4th of July as she got engaged to her boyfriend drummer Chris Tyrell.
He’s the guy in the photo above…not the dolphin.
Over the weekend Tyrell popped the question to his girlfriend of one year. Scott told People magazine that the proposal was a freakin’ dream come true.
She gushes, “Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and – in our workout clothes – he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!”
And apparently, Lady Antebellum’s song “Just A Kiss” was inspired by Tyrell. Hillary explains, “This song is about one of those times when your brain kicks in and tells your heart, ‘Good things are worth waiting for.’”
For sweet. Best wishes go out to the newly engaged couple.
