In some rather shocking news, Lady Gaga has revealed that her Monster’s Ball tour left her bankrupt because she spent MILLIONS on those effing whacked out ensembles that she felt necessary to wear. Yes, BANKRUPT!
And here I thought Gaga created those outfits all herself. Pfft. This just goes to show how much I know!
Gaga’s Monsters Ball tour was an 18 month eclectic stage show that included 200 shows! Umm hello, tours are where musicians make their money. So, after all of those tireless days of nonstop ass busting, Gaga found out that she was pretty much bankrupt. But get this, she didn’t have a damn clue that she had financial problems.
She said, “Other than that I put everything in the show, and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of the Monster Ball. And it was funny because I didn’t know! And I remember I called everybody and said, ‘Why is everyone saying I have no money? This is ridiculous, I have five No. 1 singles’ — and they said, ‘Well, you’re $3m in debt.’”
But get this, she didn’t even really care. She explained, “It’s honestly true that money means nothing to me. The only big things I’ve purchased are my dad’s heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary. And that was only because my dad had a Lady Gaga license plate on our old car and it was making me crazy because he was getting followed everywhere, so I bought him a new car.”
All I have to say is that is effing nuts.
