And it was damn awkward.
Lady Gaga’s Edge of Glory performance on American Idol was more like a soft porn theatrical cry of desperation. And yeah, I know that doesn’t make any sense really, but neither does she. I get that Gaga is all artsy and stuff and loves bringing her songs to life, but this was too much for me.
During her performance Gaga spent most of her time atop a rock-like structure (which I am thinking it is safe to assume that this is symbolic for her ‘Edge’) rolling along with a male dancer who is dancing alongside the eccentric pop star. By the time the song draws near the end, Gaga and her dancer dude are rolling around on the rock smooching, holding hands and well, getting frisky. I’m guessing the “Glory” part was her and her dancer almost doing it on stage?
Mine was when she jumped off the edge.
But did Gaga push the limits a bit too far with this performance? Or is it just okay because we expect Gaga to do something over the top?
