Man, those lyrics are freakin’ hilarious and genius. This year, Larry Platt is American Idol’s William Hung. With his hilariously funny audition and a positive comment from the usually critical Simon Cowell, Platt is receiving nationwide attention and I hope that he is enjoying every second of his 15 minutes…including his debut on the Billboard charts!
Larry Platt is probably celebrating with his pants on! His goofy little ditty “Pants on the Ground” managed to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a vengeance, debuting at number 46!
According to a source,
“Pants” was at a higher position this week that songs by Miley Cyrus, Daughtry, and the oh-so controversial John Mayer. The song is a remix, and is therefore slightly different than the ridiculous number he showed off in front of Simon Cowell and company. In addition to getting in the top 50 on this song, Platt debuted at #22 on the digital chart.”My guess is this success won’t be lasting much longer, but it is pretty damn cool that Platt could garner so much attention and land on the charts without much effort at all.
