Leslie Nielsen dead at 84
Not that death isn’t an overall sad ordeal at any time, but around the holiday season makes it for an even sadder event. TMZ is reporting that the legendary and hilarious Leslie Nielsen passed away at the age of 84 from pneumonia.
His nephew released the following statement: “Today at 5:30 with his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away.”
You may remember Nielsen for his roles in Airplane and Naked Gun.
Celebrities also sent out some heartfelt messages in tribute to the late actor.
Ryan Seacrest tweeted: “Sad to hear about Leslie Nielsen passing. To this day ‘Airplane’ is still one of my favorite comedies ever.”
Marlee Matlin tweeted: A lovely man and acquaintance passed away today – Leslie Nielsen. What a lovely, funny, talented man. He will be missed. RIP.”
Russell Brand tweeted: “RIP. Leslie Nielsen. Shirley, he will be missed.”
Rocker Slash cited Nielson as: “one of my all time favorite comedians. U my friend, will be missed big time. Wow, what a loss.”
