There’s a new action star in Hollywood and it isn’t who you think it should be.
Liam Neeson has been in some of the biggest action hits in the last two years (Battleship, Wrath of the Titans, The Dark Knight Rises) and it is only fitting that Hollywood acknowledge that the esteemed actor has considerable pull in the genre. Enough in fact, that 2012 could very well be the first time that Neeson tops the list as Hollywood’s most bankable action star.
Taken 2, Liam’s latest action movie, claimed the top spot at the box office this weekend, amassing over $50 million dollars. The action thriller, ended the weekend with one of the biggest Octobers in the history of cinema. It also surpassed the first weekend total of the original movie, Taken, earning more than twice than that movie over the weekend.
So, at 60 years of age, it can be said that it is never too late to get into the action game. Of course, if you’re a Chuck Norris fan you already know that. But does Chuck possess the acting chops of Neeson?

And sure Hollywood has tried to convince us that Jeremy Renner is an action star with the latest Bourne movie, but I’d rather have a 60 year old Liam than a 30-something Jeremey Renner. Am I the only one out there that thinks he looks slapped with a touch o’tard, aka speshul?
I thought not!
