After five years together and two kids later, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are engaged. Not so surprisingly, but yet a tad exciting. Also, a bit depressing for those women hoping that they would have that slight chance with McConaughey. Eh. Whatever.
On Sunday, McConaughey presented Alves with a big fat blingin’ gift, an engagement ring and the now-bald actor posted a photo (see above) of the happy couple smooching on his Twitter with the caption, “Just asked Camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas” Yay, Camila! Your bank account is about to get bigger and probably without a prenuptial agreement because I highly doubt Mr. Hippie McConaughey won’t be signing, sealing and delivering one of those to his woman.
And while this is happy news for Camila, Matthew and their two kiddos (3 year old son Levi and 23 month old daughter Vida) together, it isn’t exactly surprising news. It was back in March when McConaughey told Esquire magazine that Alves is “the one”. He was quoted as saying, “I found the woman… I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together.”
These two have come a long way since meeting in a bar in Los Angeles back in 2006! How much you want to bet they marry barefoot on the beach and honeymoon in an Airstream trailer?
