You know that King of Pop tribute that Mama Katherine has been organizing for months now? Yeah, you know the one that is scheduled to take place in Wales in October. Well, Michael Jackson’s fan club big wigs are effing pissed and want the tribute concert shut down! And let me tell you, this isn’t just one measly fan club protesting.
THIRTY FIVE fan club officials have joined forces to have this show cancelled! Not only do they claim that the timing of the event is bad (it will go down when Jackson’s doctor Dr. Conrad Murray starts his manslaughter trial) but so is that whole KISS controversy.
A post on the Fans Against Michael Forever Tribute Facebook page says, “From the timing of this tribute, in the middle of Dr. Murray’s trial, to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonouring, thus tarnishing Michael Jackson’s legacy was simply the last straw.”
It still is early to shut down the event, but will Katherine take the fans’ wishes into account or will the show go on?
It’s going to be interesting to see what really does happen. What Mama says is what usually goes.
