A source tells the UK’s The Sun, “We want to celebrate Michael’s life and make him proud. And the best way to do that is to get artists who he loved and respected to perform his songs. There will around ten performers singing his best hits. The artists will cover all generations and will all be performers Michael loved. They are all people Michael has talked about in recent months and years and will give an excellent example of where his musical tastes were when he died.
“There will be one or two surprises. Man In The Mirror is a big moment and the show will end with the singers all joining forces to perform Heal The World, which will be the emotive grand finale. As Michael himself said before, it will be the greatest show on Earth.”
There have been many rumors that include Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Diana Ross and Paul McCartney paying tribute to the deceased star, however the source reveals, “The details are still being confirmed and there is lots of bickering about exactly what should happen. But the line-up is close to being sealed and it’s very exciting. It’s going to be a huge, huge show, one of the biggest the world has ever seen. Michael would be proud. The family want the theme of his London shows to come through in the concert. For that reason Heal The World will be the theme of the day. It’s the message and legacy Michael would have wanted to leave.”
