Errrrbody put your hands together for…Aziz Ansari, your host for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Yay! Woohoo! I am flipping out with excitement and I can hardly contain myself. Break out the margarita glasses to celebrate this fabulous year and our fabulous host for 2010. Ummmm, who is Aziz Ansari?
In case you aren’t a Parks and Recreation fan, you wouldn’t know Aziz. If you hadn’t seen Human Giant, you wouldn’t know Aziz. Not into comedic standup? Well then you really wouldn’t know Aziz. Get used to it. Aziz will be around for more than a hot minute, especially now that he landed a gig that will get him recognized worldwide.
About receiving the hosting gig for the MTV Movie Awards, Ansari said “I’m so happy Ronnie from ‘Jersey Shore’ was unavailable and this exciting opportunity was able to come my way.”
General manager of MTV, Stephen Friedman said, “Our audience fell in love with Aziz on ‘Human Giant.’ They followed him to the movies, TV and stand-up, and connect with him daily online. Aziz is the perfect host for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, as he will bring his innovative comedy and distinctive style to the movie industry’s most rebellious night on television.”
