New man, new baby, new role?
If reports coming out of Hollywood are any indication, the Academy Award-winning Natalie Portman may be the next actress to portray Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. The new movie, from Fox Searchlight (the same distributor of Portman’s Black Swan), follows the First Lady directly after the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy.
They need to make a movie about making this movie, because the backstory reads like a Lifetime movie! First Darren Aronofsky, the director of Black Swan, was slated to helm the movie with his wife Rachel Weisz in the role as Jackie Kennedy. Then those two broke up, Rachel Weisz ran off with James Bond’s Daniel Craig, and now Natalie Portman is being courted to play the role of one of America’s most famous First Ladies. All we’re waiting for now is a director. Reports now are the Steven Spielberg is interested, with Noah Oppenheim writing the script. Whoever is chosen to appear in this film, it certainly won’t be worse than the last woman to portray Jackie O.
Yes, Katie Holmes…I’m talking about you.
