Last night was the event of the freakin’ century…the Annual Musicares Person Of The Year event. Neil Freakin’ Diamond was honored by Musicares last night for JUST being cool. Sure he’s had a couple of really sweet songs in this life, i.e. Sweet Caroline…but come on, Neil was honored for his pimpness. All he needs to do is pop his collar, raise his bushy eyebrow and the women come flocking. HOLLA!
It was an interesting night to say the least. John Stamos showed up with some fugly chick by his side…David Spade and Kid Rock gazed into Faith Hill’s eyes lovingly, while on-again Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman groped each other in the audience. Camilla Belle even tried to make a low-key appearance to support her man Joe Jonas. Ahhhh.
The night included some hot performances by Adele, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Dave Grohl and Josh Groban that all touched Neil’s heart of gold, but it was Jennifer Hudson’s performance of “Holly Holy” that brought down the hizouse!
The fabulous news of the evening was the fact that honoring pimptastic Neil filled an auditorium to its capacity AND raised some serious cash for a very worthy cause!
Nice work, Musicares! Neil is surely a diamond in the rough.
