Last week I told ya’ll all about Nelly Furtado‘s new greatest hits compilation, The Best of Nelly Furtado, which hits stores November 16th courtesy of Geffen Records. The album, of course, features all of Furtado‘s hit singles from previous albums- but it’s not just a greatest hits album. Why? Because it will also feature three new songs from the singing sensation. Even better, “Night is Young” is one of these brand new songs, and her latest single… out now for your listening pleasure. If the cover art is any indication, Nelly Furtado has certainly still got it. And while she may be releasing a greatest hits album, she’s certainly not finished rockin’ the charts.
“Night Is Young” was co-produced by Salaam Remi (Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse) and Staybent Krunk-A-Delic, and co-written by Nelly Furtado. Of the other two (not yet released) new songs, “Girlfriend” was also co-written by producer Remi and Furtado, while “Stars,” was produced by Lester Mendez who co-wrote the track with Furtado.
Nelly Furtado’s greatest hits compilation celebrates her first 10 years as a recording artist- taking a look back at a simply sensational and genuinely global first decade for the acclaimed Canadian-born singer-songwriter of Portuguese heritage.
